Women’s Health & Menopause Visits: In-Home and In Person
For women’s health services—including menopause evaluation and hormone therapy consultations—we provide care in your home and in-person. This supports privacy, comfort, and appropriate assessment when an exam is needed.
Please note: Telehealth is not available for women’s health or menopause services.
Perimenopause and menopause: when “something feels off,” it might be hormones
Perimenopause is the transition leading up to menopause and can begin years before periods stop. Menopause is defined as 12 months without a menstrual period. Both can bring symptoms that are real, common, and treatable.
We commonly help with:
- Hot flashes and night sweats
- Sleep disruption and fatigue
- Mood changes, anxiety, irritability, or “brain fog”
- Weight and body composition changes
- Vaginal dryness, discomfort, or pain with sex
- Low libido
- Urinary urgency, leakage, or recurrent UTIs
- Headaches/migraines that are new or changing
- Joint aches and overall “not myself” feeling
If you’re feeling dismissed or told “it’s normal,” we’re here to take your symptoms seriously and offer options.
What to expect at your first in-home visit
We take the time to understand the full picture, including:
- Your symptom timeline and top priorities
- Medical, surgical, and family history
- Current medications and supplements
- Vital signs and any relevant exam components (as appropriate)
- Whether labs or additional evaluation are useful for safety or clarity
Together, we will develop a clear plan and a follow-up approach that fits your needs.
Treatment options we offer
Your plan may include one or more of the following, based on your symptoms, preferences, and medical history:
Lifestyle and whole-person support
- Sleep and stress strategies
- Nutrition and movement planning
- Symptom tracking and trigger management
Non-hormonal options
For patients who can’t use hormones—or prefer not to—we can discuss non-hormonal prescription options and targeted symptom support.
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) / Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT)
When appropriate, MHT (this term has replaced “HRT”) can be highly effective—especially for hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, and certain genitourinary symptoms. We individualize therapy and may discuss:
- Systemic estrogen options (route depends on the individual)
- Progesterone/progestin when uterine protection is needed
- Local (vaginal) therapies for dryness, discomfort, and urinary symptoms
- A clear review of benefits, risks, timing, and follow-up
Testosterone therapy (when appropriate)
Some patients ask about testosterone for concerns such as low sexual desire. If this is a goal for you, we can discuss whether testosterone therapy is appropriate, review expected benefits and limitations, and monitor carefully for side effects.
Bioidentical hormones
If you’re looking for “bioidentical hormones,” we offer a clear, practical discussion of options:
- FDA-approved bioidentical hormone therapies (available in standardized formulations),
- and Compounded bioidentical hormones when appropriate and clinically justified
Our priority is choosing the safest, most effective option for your goals—using shared decision-making and thoughtful follow-up.
Other supportive menopause treatments
Depending on your symptoms, we may also discuss additional treatments for:
- Sleep concerns
- Mood changes and anxiety
- Vaginal/urinary symptoms
- Bone health support and prevention strategies
